چکیده

Introduction Classically, a single renal artery supplies and single renal vein drains each kidney. Variations regarding the origin and number have been reported by many researchers [1–3]. Modern surgical and radiological techniques dictate a reappraisal and definition of the renal vascular anatomy. In this regard, the role of the primary tributaries of the renal vein and their relationship to the branches of the renal artery is important. The invasive interventions such as renal transplantation, interventional radiologic procedures and urologic operations require awareness of the possible variations of the renal arteries is necessary for adequate surgical management [4, 5].

Multiple anomalies involving testicular and suprarenal arteries: embryological basis and clinical significance.

Variations in the origin of arteries in the abdomen are very common but with the invention of new operative techniques within the abdominal cavity, the anatomy of abdominal vessels has assumed much more clinical importance. During routine dissection of the abdominal cavity, we came across multiple arterial anomalies involving testicular and suprarenal arteries. On the right side, there was doub...

A Case Report of Variant Origin of Left Vertebral Artery from Aortic Arch and its Embryological Explanation

Vertebral artery is the first branch of subclavian artery. It merges with the same artery of the opposite side to form basilar artery and becomes one of the important source of blood supply to the brain. Variation in the origin of left vertebral artery was found in 65 year old female during magnetic resonance angiography of the neck vessels. It originated from aortic arch and was longer as ...

Case Report: A Rare Variation in Origin of Common Interosseous Artery: A Review of Anatomical Studies and Case Report

An unusual origin of the common interosseous artery is reported in the paper. During educational dissection of a 37-year-old male, a rare variation in the origin of common interosseous artery of the right upper limb was observed. The common interosseous artery directly separated from radial artery. The right anterior interosseous artery is continued from common interosseous artery. Anterior and...

Bilateral Malrotation and a Congenital Pelvic Kidney with Varied Vasculature and Altered Hilar Anatomy

Variations of structure and position of the kidney along with variations of renal vessels are most frequently reported. Rotational variations form a rare entity that are not cited in most embryology textbooks. During an educational cadaveric dissection of a 42-year-old male, a complex picture of bilateral anatomical variants was encountered. Malrotation of both kidneys and a left lobulated ecto...
